Business Development Manager
Remote within Canada, with national travel as required
Role Summary
Leads a small national team of Business Development Managers focused on growing print revenue in mid-market and enterprise accounts. Owns the BD strategy, brings structure and discipline to the sales process, and gets hands-on with key pursuits, including complex RFPs and large, multi-year deals.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of BDMs across Canada with clear targets, KPIs, and regular pipeline reviews.
• Build and execute a national BD plan to win new enterprise accounts and grow spend within existing customers.
• Oversee large opportunities and RFP/RFQ responses, including national print programs, and digital print-on-demand platforms.
• Ensure consistent CRM usage for activity tracking, forecasting, and deal management.
• Collaborate with internal print support, sales, and account management teams to align on solutions and ensure smooth onboarding before transitioning accounts.
• Lead in a collaborative, hands-on style, joining client meetings where needed to qualify, position, and close business.
Qualifications
Experience
• 10+ years B2B sales experience, including selling print to mid-market and enterprise customers.
• 5+ years leading sales or business development teams.
• Proven new business development track record and comfort with complex, multi-stakeholder deals and formal RFP processes.
• Experience working within a larger national sales organization with multiple internal stakeholders.
Skills & Attributes
• Strong coaching skills with the ability to bring structure to high-performing sales talent.
• Solid understanding of commercial print and how they fit into broader client programs.
• Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills with senior decision-makers.
• Comfortable working remotely, managing a dispersed team, and traveling nationally.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
Compensation
• Base salary: approximately $110,000 to $130,000, depending on experience.
• Annual bonus target: ~20% based on performance.
