Key Responsibilities:

•Schedule outgoing shipments to successfully meet ship dates;

•Provide shipping status and order visibility information as required to both internal and external clients, monitor shipping information, close shipped orders, provide order status, etc.;

•Provide transit times and shipment quotes to CSR’s and estimating by using our local carriers or Third-Party carriers;

•Extensive knowledge required of courier systems, such as, FedEx, Purolator, UPS and other local courier systems;

•Ensure that Proof of Deliveries are filed daily and readily accessible if inquiries occur;

•Conduct analysis on shipping quality incidents as required;

•Prepare accurate bills of lading and packing slips;

•Complete Customs paperwork for shipments destined outside of Canada;

•Maintain regular and on-going communication with Planners/Sales and production to clarify and verify priorities and timing;

•Strong telephone etiquette when calling external trucking companies or internal clients to set up shipments or book delivery appointments;

•Record an end of day report for production team to indicate what shipments have been shipped based on the Kitting schedule;

•Coordinate with material handlers to get shipments prepared and/or shipped accordingly;

•Special attention required to jobs that have breakdowns, distribution lists or special labeling or shipping info;

•Work overtime as required and perform other duties as requested to support the team;

•Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

Skills & Experience:

•A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a shipping/warehousing environment.

•Computer literacy, including working skills of PC-based software applications such as Word, Excel, EFI Pace, EFI PrintStream, EFI Process Shipper, E-mail, Internet;

•Ability to lift heavy objects (max. 50 lbs), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour;

•Exceptional attention to detail and good command of the English language (read, write, speak) with respect to:

•Understand and follow verbal and written instructions;

•Completing paperwork and requisitioning of materials accurately and efficiently;

•Complying with safety procedures and processes;

•Proven organizational skills with a commitment to quality and safety;

•Able to work well in a team environment;

•High School Diploma, GED or equivalent;

•Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
