•Follow workflow instructions, purchase order specs and planning requirements for each job

•Electronic file preparation including, inputting, formatting, image editing, colour corrections imposition and file manipulation for output of jobs to colour proofs and plates.

•Check output for quality and conformity of job specs and colour reproduction accuracy

•Maintain daily detailed production and billing notes

•Daily, weekly, monthly maintenance of workstation and processors


•Minimum 5 years of experience in medium to large print environment

•Proficiency in all Mac OSX and Windows software required for the file prep and output including but not limited to: Adobe Creative Cloud, PitStop, QuarkXpress and MS Office Suite

•Experienced with Xerox Rips, Job tickets, Heidelberg Prinect, PDF workflow, imposition software and CTP


•Able to follow directions clearly, while work well independently and in a team

•Constant commitment to quality and strict deadlines

•Repeatedly demonstrate dependability and flexibility

•Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

•Ability and willingness and to help co-workers with problem solving

•Sense of urgency and able to work under pressure

•Self-starter and able to learn new software quickly

•Good communication skills, able to explain job and deadline issues

•Highly organized, detail oriented and quality consciousness are essential

•Strong numerical and math skills required

•Customer Service oriented


•Post secondary school diploma or equivalent

•Two or three year certificate from a Print Tech or similar program at a College level

•Superior skills in Acrobat, PitStop and imposition software

•Knowledge of PDF rip hardware and software

•Thorough knowledge of the major desktop publishing applications on both platforms
