Cutting machine operator/warehouse assistant

The Japanese Paper Place - Etobicoke, ON

$37,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year



RESPONSIBILITIES during a 40-hour week Mon-Fri

• roughly half time will be spent on cutting full sheets of paper to smaller sizes on a large Polar electric cutter

• balance of time will be spent assisting with shipping - pulling and checking orders and packing them carefully and expediently for shipping

• as monthly shipments arrive from Japan, unpacking, checking and shelving them with care

• keeping warehouse area clean and tidy; managing excess packaging efficiently



REQUIREMENTS

• good physical strength and stamina

• excellent manual dexterity

• detail-oriented, takes pride in completing jobs accurately and thoroughly

• takes direction well and learns quickly; works well with others

• able to make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately

• excellent command of English

• good computer skills



PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES

• experience using an industrial paper cutter

• experience in shipping environment

• post-high school education

• positive attitude, sense of humour
