About this opportunity
The Colour Specialist is a well-rounded individual who has a high degree of technical literacy, an in-depth understanding of colour management as it applies to the packaging industry, and strong communication skills. This role is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert in colour management, supporting packaging production operations, participating in the press characterization and proofing process, and troubleshooting both internal and customer issues as required. This role has both customer-facing and sales support components. The role may occasionally be expected to provide on-call support as required in response to TC and client-side colour management issues.
What you will do
Respond to Coordinator’s requests for consultation regarding colour requests for specific customers and jobs, ensuring that brand colours will be accurately represented throughout the packaging premedia production process.
Ensure that colour proofing workflows align with customer expectations for all colours.
Analyze customer-supplied files as requested by the sales/coordination team.
Participate in pre-production meetings for certain projects that contain complex colour requirements.
Participate in the customer onboarding and press characterization processes.
Troubleshooting to resolves customer concerns as it pertains to reproduction or screening issues.
Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
What you have to offer
Undergraduate degree in a related field (Graphic arts, Business Administration, Print Production)
At least 2-3 years experience in a colour management role within the printing industry
Familiarity with digital production workflows
Knowledge of colour theory for the printing industry required.
Knowledge of the packaging artwork production and/or packaging prepress processes
Logical and methodical approach to execution
Strong communicator, both written and verbal (expected to directly communicate with clients)
