The Prepress Operator will be responsible for receiving electronic files from clients, processing the files for offset or digital printing, and providing final output for production. If you are a detail-oriented professional with prepress experience, we encourage you to apply today.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Company Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Preflight, edit, and impose files for printing on offset and digital presses.
• Build impositions for nested diecutting, folding, and bookwork as instructed.
• Create electronic or hard copy proofs for clients and make changes or corrections as requested.
• Output plates for production using CTP following client approval.
• Print a variety of short run jobs on a digital press.
• Cut rubber blankets for offset presses and diecut samples on a flatbed cutting plotter.
• Responsible for quality of product.
• Meets productivity goals.
• Responsible for accurate written and computer job reporting.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• Not limited to duties as described above.
Qualifications and Education
• Grade 12 or acceptable experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent troubleshooting and file management skills.
Skills and Physical Requirement
• Motivated to learn and adapt to new technology and procedures.
•Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience with both Mac & PC platforms.
• Knowledge of Heidelberg Prinect workflow and imposition software is an asset.
• Must be both familiar and able to adhere to company safety policies and government legislation (i.e. Occupational Health and Safety Act).
• Respects individuals, the organization, authority, the community, and the team.
• Good communication skills.
