As an experienced Die Cutting Operator, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of our die cutting machinery, with a focus on clamshell die cutting press. You will play a vital role in ensuring the precise and efficient execution of die cutting jobs for a diverse range of print products. Ideally, you will also be comfortable operating finishing/bindery equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up, operate, and maintain clamshell die cutter according to job specifications.
• Interpret job tickets (work orders) and understand project requirements, including materials, quantities, and quality standards (QC).
• Perform pre-production runs to verify accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
• Monitor machine operation, identify any issues, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
• Conduct quality checks throughout the production run to ensure finished products meet company and client standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with other production team members to meet deadlines and ensure a smooth workflow.
• Accurately complete production records and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Proven experience as a Die Cutting Operator in a commercial printing environment is essential. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience and good knowledge of dies. Understanding of the print industry.
• Demonstrable experience operating clamshell die cutters is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of die cutting processes, tooling, dies and safety procedures relevant to these machines.
• Experience with various substrates and the ability to adjust machine settings accordingly.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical drawings.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Job Type: Full-time
• Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour
• Hours of Work: 40 per week + OT
