Assist in day-to-day department operations and project execution as required
Assist with the workflow within the Print Production Department (which includes; print production, bindery, shipping/receiving and pick & pack areas) assist were required so tasks are completed accurately and on schedule and wastage is within the acceptable tolerance level
When necessary Control/Operate/Troubleshoot Konica Minolta Digital Printers in Production department
Knowledge of Insertion machines is necessary
Experience in mailings is a plus.
Quality control of all production work
Learn, understand and perform tasks within the Shipping/Receiving, Pick & Pack
Ship using Canada Post, FedEX, Purolator and UPS
Liaison and oversee machine service contractors
Ensure that safety and housekeeping practices are being followed on a daily basis
Review work orders with team member(s) in detail of any issues – dialogue with Production Coordinator when specifications are not clear/information is missing
Confer with Production Coordinator to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods
Communicate update reports concerning progress status of work, downtime due to failures of machines and equipment, to apprise production planning personnel of production delays
Manage and maintain proper inventory levels of materials and parts needed for the effective operation of the Print Production Department and completion of projects
Provide production related input/information in the planning of projects, as/when required
Produce detailed reports, and notifications on issues.
Perform Document Conversion and Graphic design duties in overflow situations
Minimum 1 – 2 years experience in Print Production, Bindery and Shipping/Receiving functions.
A degree/diploma in print production or a related field is considered a plus.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Internet Explorer, and Outlook.
Solid knowledge of Adobe Acrobat are a definite plus.
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively to multi-functional parties, with a variety of personalities regarding a multiple and diverse range of projects.
Possess a high degree of initiative, be a motivated self-starter, and a strong collaborator with good negotiating skills.
Extraordinary problem-solving skills – solution oriented.
Results oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational and record keeping skills are critical.
Able to work and co-operate well with designers, writers, Customer Service Representatives and management.
Knowledge of Fiery command workstation and PDF’s is considered a high asset.
Ability to work and remain productive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Be flexible and adaptable.
Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
A knowledge of the Digital Print environment (Konica Minolta) is a priority
