The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to become both an Employee-Owner and a Senior Vice President in a market-leading, growth-oriented, award-winning company based in Altona, MB.

The SVP of Trade Books is responsible for the overall health, well-being and performance of the Trade Book Division. This includes direct reporting lines through the sales and service teams, including some general sales management responsibilities. It also involves collaboration and indirect reporting lines with corporate services, book manufacturing, and other divisions.

The successful candidate will report directly to the President and will manage a team of 25 employee-owners including 3 managers. They will also be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and may be considered for future Board directorship.  
Mission
The SVP of Trade Books helps others share their BEST story with the world. This is meant quite literally with our customers, but also figuratively, helping our employee owners and the community write a better story.

The Mandate:
The Trade Book Division is our core business, generating over $90 million in annual revenue by way of 25-30 million books and 3000+ titles every year.

The mandate of this role falls into four over-arching categories:
• Sales and marketing
o Revenue growth, profitability, and overall brand management
• Leading people
o Health, wellbeing, and performance of the team
• Product and service
o Offering superior products and services to our customers
• Strategic direction
o Enabling a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Education/Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of formal management experience.
• Degree, diploma, and/or certificate in management is preferred.
• However, we will consider a development path for the right individual.


Logistics:
• The role is based in Altona, MB
• Some travel required (likely 6-10 weeks per year).

Organizational Structure:
This position reports to the President of Friesens Corporation.
