Supremex is currently looking for a highly motivated individual with effective organizational and time management skills to partner with sales to ensure timely, accurate production estimates and pricing based on customers’ specifications for envelopes & other related product opportunities.

Role Overview

The Estimator is responsible to evaluate the specifications of a product, identify the optimum manufacturing process and calculate the estimated cost of manufacturing to provide sales and management a basis for determining price, for custom envelopes, mailers, folding carton and other related products opportunities.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Using an estimating model, ensuring timely and accurate estimates by reviewing quote specifications

• Determining most cost effective and competitive price by comparing pricing associated with all viable production methods

• Determining the cost of all raw materials, consumable materials, and outsourced production required to do the job

o Calculating costs of all materials required

o Coordinating layout sheets & obtaining pricing for outside work (i.e. off-set printing, etc.)

o Obtaining pricing for special papers or special packaging

• Suggesting alternatives that may help sales win work

• Conferring with production personnel to develop or confirm information regarding various cost elements

• Maintaining and developing a list of suppliers, sources raw materials, and contacts vendors for best pricing

• Implementing all price increases of raw materials (e.g. paper, window film, cartons, skids, freight charges, etc.) into estimates

• Performing other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned

What you bring to the role:

• 2+ years estimating experience in printing, packaging, or paper converting manufacturing environment preferred

• Understanding of flexographic and off-set printing processes an asset

• Must have excellent organizational skills for fast paced, constantly changing environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with internal staff

• Good business communication skills; both oral & written

• Intermediate computer skills required in MSOffice. Dynamics AX experience an asset

• Ability to work independently, multi-task, follow-up, and meet tight timelines

• Effective time management skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

• Customer service focused

• Proven creative problem solving abilities

• Accuracy with managing data and attention to detail

• Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)

• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, high energy, team player focused on the goals of the organization
